The City Council presided over by Óscar Noda launches two calls for economic support for sports: one line of subsidies aimed at the creation, organization, and operation of Municipal Interest Sports Initiation Schools, 2024-2025 season, with a budgetary reserve of 130,000 euros, and another specific one to cover expenses for individual athletes in 2024 with an amount of 15,000 euros. The bases, requirements, and annexes are published in the link of the Sports thematic area of the City Council website.

Óscar Noda emphasizes "the municipal commitment to youth development and punctual payment to entities and athletes who help us promote healthy activities among the younger population." Yaiza also fosters "teamwork, respect, and social inclusion."

For his part, the Yaiza Sports Councilor, Ángel Lago, maintains that "this way we maintain the objective of promoting sport so that our children aged 6 to 16 train and compete in the discipline of their choice. The Sports Schools program also works thanks to the involvement and professionalism of the entities and their instructors, and the support of families."

Beneficiary entities must participate in official competitions recognized by the corresponding sports federations. Among the assessment criteria, the number of athletes who train regularly, the qualifications of the coaches, high-cost sports, and indigenous sports such as Canarian wrestling or Latin sailing stand out.

Regarding aid for individual athletes, the Administration intends to offer financial assistance for the preparation and participation of Yaiza's male and female athletes in official competitions. They can justify expenses related to federations, sports equipment, medical and physiotherapy costs, or travel. Yaiza seeks new talent and aims for its athletes to compete on equal terms.
