The City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, informs that the call for transportation aid for university and higher education students for the 2024 - 2025 academic year is open from May 27 to June 17 for the submission of applications and documentation. University students from the municipality of Yaiza who accredit studies outside of Lanzarote will receive 900 euros; for university students who pursue non-presential or online studies on the Island, the amount to be received is 350 euros; students pursuing higher education outside of Lanzarote will receive 350 euros; and for those who pursue higher education studies on the Island, the amount is 250 euros.
As a basic requirement, Spanish or community students with habitual and uninterrupted residence in Yaiza for at least 12 months, who are enrolled during the academic year 2024 - 2025 in public and private education centers, may access these aids. In any case, the Councilor for Education of Yaiza, Silvia Santana, suggests reading the call and its annexes to be filled out in full, published in the cover banner of the City Council's website.
Students must also provide a photocopy and original for verification of the document accrediting enrollment during the current academic year, stating all subjects or the total number of credits enrolled according to the study plan, and a photocopy and original for verification of the bank receipt of having paid the academic fees corresponding to the current academic year. Secondary compulsory education, baccalaureate, intermediate cycles, official language studies, and UNED studies outside of Lanzarote are excluded from this call.
Applications can be submitted to the General Registry of the Yaiza City Council or to the Institution's electronic headquarters. The recommendation for students and families is to submit the application as soon as they have all the documents and not wait until the deadline is near expiration.
