The Yaiza City Council has withdrawn from the garbage collection tender in the municipality, which was published on the public sector platform on April 17. The reason for this withdrawal was that one of the aspiring companies in the tender has filed a special appeal against the specifications before the Administrative Court of Public Contracts of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. The contract seeks to provide service for a period of seven years in exchange for 23.2 million euros.

Yaiza has chosen to modify the specifications and launch a new tender to "not delay the resolution of the file", as Mayor Óscar Noda points out. The southern councilor has reported that "of the reasons raised by the interested company, it would only be right in the justification of the required solvency, which we will expose with all possible details, but let it be very clear that above the particular interests of any company are the interests of the municipality. We demand and will demand technical and economic solvency for the provision of an essential service."

Faced with the special contracting appeal, the local Administration decided to withdraw from the procedure before the Administrative Court of Public Contracts and it has resolved to declare it concluded motivated by the withdrawal of the contracting body. This Court has the power to resolve special appeals in contracting matters.
