The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, and the councilor for Urban Planning, Ulpiano Calero, visited the Achimencey sociocultural center, in La Asomada, these days to supervise the work being carried out in its facilities. The works have a budget of 266,160.01 euros and have been financed by the Tías City Council.

Municipal officials confirmed the progress in the masonry, electrical, and plumbing tasks, in addition to the work to transform the spaces into more accessible and efficient areas, adapted to the current needs of the residents of La Asomada and their visitors.

José Juan Cruz highlights the commitment of the governing group to the execution of this work, whose costs are covered with own funds with the aim of improving and modernizing the building with complete work that will conclude with the flooring and wall cladding, painting, and glazing.

Cruz Saavedra states that this project will allow "to revitalize a fundamental meeting space for the social, cultural, and participatory life of the town, also incorporating important energy improvements, such as the photovoltaic installation for self-consumption."

The facilities have a main hall of 145 square meters, a stage, dressing rooms, restrooms, a bar-cafeteria with a kitchen, a bar, restrooms, storage rooms, gardens, a terrace of 115 square meters, a bowling court, and administration rooms.

The new proposal will convert one of the current rooms intended for storage into two restrooms, "one of them for people with reduced mobility and the second for men." Additionally, a new bar will be created in the bar area.

The most notable works correspond to the electrical installation, which is being completely renovated. Likewise, a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption with a grid connection will be installed on the roof.
