Five left-wing parties launch a forum to debate the housing emergency that affects Lanzarote. The event on the Housing Emergency: "Without a home there is no life", poses the question: "¿Who will be able to live in Lanzarote".
Podemos Lanzarote, Sumar Canarias, Sí Se Puede, Lanzarote en Pie and Izquierda Unida Canaria invite the public to attend the event which will take place this Saturday, July 4th at the Casa de la Juventud in Arrecife.
The event will be at 6:00 PM. Thus, a forum will be held where the state of public and social housing, the Canary Islands housing law, affordable rents, empty homes, real estate speculation, holiday homes and touristification will be discussed.
"We unite Podemos Lanzarote, Sumar Canarias, Sí Se Puede, Lanzarote En Pie and Izquierda Unida Lanzarote to debate, listen to proposals and seek solutions to a crisis that affects more and more people every day," the groups have stated in a press release.
The forum will feature presentations, a round table, and an open space for debate. "If you believe that housing should be a right and not a privilege, we are waiting for you," they concluded.
