The two councilors that VOX has in the Arrecife City Council, Eugenio Hernández Cabrera and Jorge Enrique Barrios Rodríguez, have presented a motion for discussion so that a Beautification Plan for the capital is carried out, initially painting the fences of the parks and all public elements and carrying out a more forceful action in the surroundings of the Charco de San Ginés.

The VOX spokesperson in the institution, Eugenio Hernández, is clear that regardless of the large investments that the municipality requires to undertake all kinds of medium or large-scale projects, the current Government Group, formed by the Popular Party and the Canarian Coalition (CC), "must put aside their differences and their constant confrontations in public and in private to undertake relatively easy and urgent reforms in the capital".

“It is not difficult to think about the need to paint or whitewash, for example, some of the most emblematic facades of the capital, places through which in these times of cruises thousands of tourists pass every week. I am referring to places like La Puntilla, where there are few facades of the buildings in the area that do not need an immediate coat of paint. It is not difficult to repair and paint fences of public parks, of public gardens”, says Hernández.

“With the arrival of summer, the elements exposed to the elements deteriorate easily; they need, as is obvious, protection created with paint or varnish. Previously, a cleaning and repair must be undertaken to give the appropriate utility to each area”, says the municipal spokesperson.

VOX points out in its motion that with this shock plan, the City Council would also make a call to the citizens to undertake the same with their buildings, so that with the arrival of summer, together, a better appearance of Arrecife is achieved. “Some people talk a lot about the tourist attractions that Arrecife has, which it does, but if we are not capable of taking care of the basics, what are we talking about?”, Hernández concludes.
