The counselor of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote (CACT) was this Wednesday on the microphones of the program Buenos días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzarote - Onda Cero to clarify the update of the statutes of the institution after the controversy for not specifying in them that the workers would come to belong to the Cabildo in case of the disappearance of the CACT.

In this regard, the counselor said that what has happened is that "there are people who don't know how to read the documents and who only seek to complicate things". Thus, he stressed that "in the document it is true that there is a legal term that many people, not having legal knowledge, can interpret erroneously, but it clearly stated that once the company was liquidated in a universal manner, all obligations would pass, and within them are the assets, debts, income, and personnel".

Regarding the concern shown by the committee, Vázquez explained that he met with its members and this point was clarified. "At no time was there danger in that aspect, quite the opposite," he indicated.

Furthermore, he specified that the modification "is purely technical, politicians do not intervene there because what happened when we bought the building for the offices, since the notary said that those statutes were obsolete and that they were useless because they were not updated to regulations, since they are from the year 2004". Therefore, the modification of the statutes was carried out based on this situation.

"I said, I cannot continue working this way, so a commission is formed within the company with the legal advice of the company and that of the Cabildo and an external specialist in these things and what you do is adapt the text to current regulations, nothing more", he continued.

Therefore, now the statutes will incorporate a specific mention to clarify that male and female workers are included in the obligations that will be transferred to the First Island Institution in case of the Entity's extinction.
