The President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, said this Wednesday that Pedro Sánchez will have to explain in the archipelago his letter to the King of Morocco, in which Spain is in favor of autonomy for the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty.
Torres, in an intervention in the plenary session of Parliament on the occasion of the debate on the state of nationality, reiterated that the letter is "relevant" and "transcendental", that good relations with Morocco are important for the Canary Islands and that "no proposal will have any traction" if it is not with an agreement between the parties.
"No proposal made by Morocco will have any traction if it is not supported by the Polisario Front and no proposal by the Polisario Front will have any traction if it is not supported by Morocco," Torres said.
