The People's Party of Tinajo will formally request the City Council to proceed with the honorary recognition of José Tejera Feo, for the commendable work carried out at the head of La Cartería de Tinajo. An official distinction that they consider "more than deserved" and that they are convinced "is supported by the residents of the municipality in a majority way, and with special affection by those who at some point in their lives received from his hands an envelope with good news, a timely notice, a message of remembrance or congratulations".
From the People's Party, they highlight the work carried out by Tejera Feo since he took charge of the post office in 1961 and what his figure represented for more than a decade for the families of Tinajo, who always recognized him as a very helpful and affectionate person.
The local coordinator of the PP, Carmen Camiñas, points out that "the arrival of Don José 'the postman' at the doors of the houses became quite an event. First because the news arrived with him and because, if they didn't know how to do it, he would read them the letters and messages from distant Cuba, Venezuela, Uruguay or Argentina, where many neighbors of Tinajo had managed to emigrate and settle."
From when he took over the post office in 1961 until today, the Tejera family has been present in the usual mail delivery in the municipality, following in their grandfather's footsteps. "Now that La Cartería de Tinajo celebrates 65 years since its opening, we believe it is a magnificent opportunity to recognize this selfless neighbor as he deserves," they argue from the PP ranks.
