Tinajo becomes a Child Friendly City of Unicef. The City Council signed this past Thursday in an act celebrated in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, the agreement that will remain from the end of 2023 until the year 2027.

The councilor of the area in the town hall of Tinajero, Vianney Rodríguez, participated in the act, who signed the CAI agreement with the regional president of UNICEF Canary Islands Committee, Rosa Gloria Suárez de Vergara. Thus, Suárez de Vergara leads in the islands an initiative formed by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Childhood, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the University Institute of Needs and Rights of Children and Adolescents (IUNDIA) and UNICEF Spain.

Rodríguez stated that "receiving this recognition, for a municipality like Tinajo is, without a doubt, a great pride, but it also represents a great responsibility and commitment that motivates even more the rigorous and methodical work in the implementation of public policies that affect the entire community, with special incidence in children, adolescents and youth. For some years now, the municipality has been proposing "a proposal for participation in childhood, adolescence and youth of youth participation and decision, sharing activities and dreaming of a better Tinajo. Tinajo will continue to advance in improving the lives of children and adolescents in the municipality, thank you very much on behalf of the people of Tinajo. And thanks also to all the workers in the Youth area for their enormous work, without them this recognition would not have been possible", concluded the mayor.

For his part, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, showed "his pride as a tinajero and congratulates the people of Tinajo for this recognition by Unicef. The signing of this agreement confirms the good path started by Tinajo with our young people and multiplies our strength to continue working in that line", confirms the mayor of Tinajo.
