The Tías City Council will renew the murals in El Pavón Square this week with messages against gender violence. This proposal arises as a replacement for the murals located in front of the stands, which, according to the council, show signs of deterioration and will be replaced by creations by the artist Iván T. with messages against gender violence.
The Councilor for Culture and Youth, Pepa González, highlights the need to intervene in the current murals, "which look very damaged, with loss of color, shells and areas where the paint has been lost, so we have decided to fix the entire area, which also welcomes numerous young people every week since we opened the Tías Youth Space."
Pepa González explains that the new murals have been designed by the artist Iván T. under the premise of including messages against gender violence, both psychological and physical, sexual, economic and street violence. This artistic proposal has the collaboration of the municipality's basketball team, Magec Tías Against Gender Violence, which receives an annual subsidy from the Equality area through the State Pact.
Iván T., an artist specialized in muralism, plastic art and digital illustration, works with intense colors and figurative images. His proposal includes the design and elaboration of four murals in El Pavón Square.
