The Official Gazette of the Province has published this Friday the announcement of call for the selection of the incumbent Justice of the Peace of the Tías City Council. A period of 15 working days is established for interested parties to submit their application to the general registry of the consistory or to the electronic registry.

From the Tías City Council, they invite all interested people who meet the established requirements to submit their candidacy, recalling that this procedure seeks to guarantee transparency and citizen participation in an appointment of special relevance for the community.

The application must be accompanied by a certified photocopy of the DNI, a certificate of criminal records, a medical certificate of not suffering from an illness that incapacitates him/her for the position of Justice of the Peace, the activity, employment or function he/she performs, a sworn statement of not being involved in any of the causes of incapacity and incompatibility established in articles 303 and 389 of Organic Law 6/1985, of July 1, of the Judiciary.

In the event that there are no applications, the Plenary of the Corporation will freely elect, communicating the agreement to the Court of First Instance.

The position of Justice of the Peace does not require a law degree, although it does require that the person designated possess recognized honorability, mediation skills and willingness to provide public service. This is a key figure in the resolution of minor conflicts and in the administration of justice at the local level, acting as a link between citizens and the Judiciary.
