The Tías City Council achieves, using its own resources, a remarkable score in transparency by obtaining a 9.64 in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands (ITCanarias) for the second semester of 2023 and all of 2024. This figure significantly exceeds the average of 8.25 for similar entities.

According to the Mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, "this result reflects the firm commitment we have in the Tías City Council to transparency and accountability. Since 2019, we have worked intensively to offer citizens an open administration, where public information is accessible, clear, and useful."

The score achieved "confirms the good data on the degree of active transparency obtained since 2019," when it jumped to 7.58 after previous values of 2.55, 3.22, and 2.45 achieved in 2018, 2017, and 2016, respectively. In 2020, a 9.96 was achieved, in 2021 a 9.48 was reached, and in 2022 it reached 10.

For the Councilor for Transparency, Mariana Pérez, "transparency is one of the fundamental pillars of good governance. This achievement is the result of the coordinated effort of the entire municipal team, which has opted for the modernization of processes and the constant updating of information in digital channels. We will continue to reinforce these policies to ensure that citizens can easily and directly access all public management information."

ITCanarias is based on four indicators: the Mandatory Information Compliance Indicator (ICIO), the Web Support Compliance Indicator (ICS), the Active Advertising Compliance Indicator (ICPA), and the Voluntary Transparency Indicator (ITV). Each one assesses different criteria that influence active transparency and institutional communication.
