The Tías City Council approved this Tuesday in an ordinary plenary session, with the vote in favor of the government team (PSOE and Unidas Sí Podemos), the incorporation of credit to the current municipal budget in order to expedite municipal investments and allocate 10,160,445.68 euros to different expenditure items.
The Councilor for Economy and Finance, Tomás Silvera, explained that "this incorporation into the budget responds to the firm will of the government group to promote the development of the municipality with investments that improve the quality of life of our residents" and clarified that the Tías City Council is the first municipal corporation on the island to incorporate this year's treasury surplus for investment.
Silvera stressed that "this economic injection will allow us to strengthen key areas such as Roads and Works, Parks and Gardens, Education and Sports, improving our resources, public services and urban spaces, betting on sustainable and balanced growth throughout the municipality".
He recalled that the 2024 financial year closed with a settlement that reflects a treasury surplus for general expenses amounting to 26,483,862.29 euros, which reveals the good financial health of the corporation.
The excellent investment capacity allows allocating items to Security and computer equipment, Parks and Gardens, Education, Sports, General Administration and Roads and Works. In fact, this credit modification will allow investing in the sanitation of the municipality, the rehabilitation of squares, refurbishment of sports courts, acquisition of land, street furniture and bio-healthy, children's and calisthenics parks, purchase of electric vehicles for the Local Police and machinery for Roads and Works, among other projects.
