The Tías City Council publicly presented eight vehicles that were immediately assigned to the municipality's operational services. The council invested a total of 242,949.90 euros of its own funds in the renovation and modernization of its vehicle fleet.
The presentation took place in the Town Hall square, with the presence of the mayor, José Juan Cruz, the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, the councilor of the Mobile Park, Christopher Notario, and colleagues from the government group and the concessionaire company in charge of handing over the keys.
The vehicles acquired are five 100% electric compact vans (Ë-Berlingo size M, 5-seater), two 9-seater hybrid van-type vehicles (Hyunday Staria HEV) and a 5-seater plug-in hybrid (C5 Aircross PHEV).
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, explained that "this investment reflects our commitment to sustainability and the improvement of public services. We are committed to a more modern, efficient and environmentally friendly vehicle fleet, at the service of the citizens of Tías."
For his part, the Councilor for the Vehicle Fleet, Christopher Notario, stressed that "with this renewal we are taking an important step in the modernization of our operational services, taking into account the indications of the 2030 Agenda. The incorporation of electric and low-consumption vehicles represents an improvement in the efficiency of daily work and a significant reduction in polluting emissions."
These vehicles will be allocated to the various municipal areas that provide operational services throughout the municipality, improving response capacity and the sustainability of the municipal fleet.
