The Sunday market of La Villa de Teguise registered this Sunday the highest number of visitors since the beginning of the pandemic, with a rebound that exceeded "10,000 people", thus recovering the numbers that occurred in normal health circumstances.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, wanted to congratulate "all the agents involved that make La Villa a reference and claim for thousands of people, both tourists and locals, to choose to visit us on a day when history and tourism come together." "These figures would not be possible without the good work of all the market vendors, commercial and restaurant fabric, the taxi sector and municipal staff, in addition to the emergency services, Emerlan, Civil Protection and Local Police Teguise," he adds.

In this sense, and given the increase in requests for the installation of new points of sale in the Market, the councilor of the area, Eugenio Robayna, confirms that "a new area has already been enabled in the parking lot of Garajonay street", where "60 new stalls" will be incorporated during the next weeks.

In addition, from the Consistory they add that within the growth plan of the new format of this traditional event, "the Municipal Tent" is also included, where it is planned to install "40 social emergency stalls in the coming months." In this way, a total of 300 would be added in the area of La Mareta and its surroundings.
