Thanks to the absolute majority obtained in the elections of May 28, Isidro Pérez is once again mayor of San Bartolomé. Pérez highlighted the "indescribable honor" that this responsibility represents and thanked the trust placed in the PSOE with an increase of two councilors to reach a total of twelve.

Isidro Pérez valued the "capacity, preparation and tenacity" of the team of councilors who assume government responsibilities, assured that San Bartolomé will continue to advance along the path of sustainability and prosperity and emphasized the "deep social burden" of municipal management.

After firmly defending "constitutional values, peaceful coexistence and respect for diversity," he assured that he will be mayor "of all the residents of San Bartolomé, regardless of each ideology."

The mayor concluded his speech highlighting the work of the employees of the City Council, "that work so often invisible despite its intensity and constancy." To conclude, he recalled the phrase spoken by the founder of the PSOE, Pablo Iglesias Posse: "We are socialists not to love our ideas in silence or to revel in their greatness and the spirit of justice that animates them, but to take them everywhere."

Distribution of municipal government areas

After the investiture session, Pérez has proceeded to distribute the Government areas, in such a way that, in addition to his responsibilities as mayor, he will assume the area of Local Police, the management of the General Urban Planning Plan -in the initial approval phase- and the resolution of the granting of subsidies.

As a novelty in this mandate, the Animal Welfare area is created within the framework of Health, while the Senior Area -formerly called Third Age- is now integrated into Social Services.

Victoriano Antonio Rocío Romero will be councilor of Economy and Finance, Contracting, Human Resources, Internal Regime and Statistics. Marlene Romero Marchín will be in charge of the areas of Urban Planning and Project Coordination, Classified and Harmless Activities, Public Shows and Housing, and Raúl De León de León will assume the areas of Public Services, Roads, Transportation, Traffic and Environment.

Estefanía Luzardo Pérez will be the head of Festivities, Culture and Education; María del Carmen Medida Toledo will direct Social Services, Seniors and, as a new sub-area, the Humanitarian Social Emergency Service; Fernando Vadillo González will be councilor of Citizen Participation, Health and Animal Welfare, New Technologies and Renewable Energies. Animal Welfare appears for the first time in the municipal structure of San Bartolomé.

Alma María González Mauri will be in charge of Employment, Commerce and Heritage; Alexis Jesús Hernández Melián will direct Sports, Agriculture and Livestock; Ana María Lopes Da Silva Santos will carry out the Intercultural Community Intervention and Crafts Project; Mamadou Yero Sy Cisse will be responsible for Civil Protection, Citizen Security and Tourism and, finally, Mónica De León De León will be councilor of Youth and Equality.

On the other hand, the Local Government Board, which will be chaired by Isidro Pérez, will have Victoriano Antonio Rocío Romero, Marlene Romero Machín, Raúl De León de León, Estefanía Luzardo Pérez and María del Carmen Medina Toledo as members.

Victoriano Antonio Rocío will be the first deputy mayor, Marlene Romero the second, Raúl De León the third, Estefanía Luzardo the fourth and María del Carmen Medida the fifth."
