The San Román cemetery in Arrecife now has 60 new niches after the conclusion of the works promoted by the Arrecife City Council from the Area directed by Councilor Jacobo Lemes, and which have had a budget of 68,000 euros.

Lemes highlights that “since the beginning of this term we have increased the number of niches by almost 500”, and he is confident that “at the beginning of next year we will be able to tender the expansion of the cemetery by 5,500 square meters”. In this sense, the councilor highlights “the coordinated work that we are carrying out with the Technical Office of the City Council”, directed by Councilor Maciot Cabrera, “to carry out this expansion, necessary due to the population increase that Arrecife has experienced in recent years”.

In addition, Jacobo Lemes recalls that the City Council is also working on a project to improve and beautify the cemetery, and expresses his confidence that “with all these actions we will finally have a cemetery in Arrecife that meets the needs of the municipality”.
