The PSOE of Lanzarote has organized a meeting, open to militants and supporters, to debate the Land Law project being processed by the Government of the Canary Islands, of which the socialists are part together with CC. And for this event, they have invited Faustino García Márquez as a speaker, one of the main exponents of the platform that has been created against this bill and that brings together personalities and political formations, social groups, unions and other groups from all the islands. Among other arguments, the platform believes that Fernando Clavijo's project returns to "developmentalism" and "resurrects the real estate bubble."

"Faustino García Márquez, considered the father of the Territorial and Tourism Planning Guidelines, which in practice meant the consolidation at the regional level of the initiative of the Cabildo of Lanzarote known as the tourist moratorium, has held various positions of responsibility in the Government of the Canary Islands, always linked to the planning of the Territory, becoming the General Director of the Canary Agency Against Climate Change," highlights the Socialist Party, whose position on this law has generated, at least in Lanzarote, differences with its government partner. At the regional level, internal differences have also been noted. Councilor Marcos Bergaz alluded just two weeks ago to a "bicephaly" in his formation, between the vice president of the regional government and the general secretary of the Canarian socialists.

For her part, the island secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has encouraged the socialist militants to attend this event and participate in the debate, pointing out "the importance of knowing the changes proposed in the bill and its consequences in order to establish the party's position on it." The event will take place this Monday at the PSOE headquarters in Arrecife, on Ingeniero Paz Pereza street, at 7:30 p.m.
