The spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ariagona González, has shown her "satisfaction" because the plenary session of the institution has agreed to ratify the administrative litigation appeal, filed by the previous socialist president, María Dolores Corujo, against the agreement of the Government of the Canary Islands authorizing the execution of the Vista Mar Wind Farm.
In her speech, González highlighted "the Socialist Party's commitment to the deployment of renewable energies" but pointed out that "these large infrastructures cannot be anywhere. They must be located in places where the environmental and landscape values of our island are preserved."
"For this reason, during our mandate, we worked on a technical study commissioned to the ITC to know the needs of renewable energies on the island and we also worked on a provisional ordinance of renewable energies on rustic land, and we left ready, pending the intervention report, the commission to Tragsa for its drafting." Once that report was made, "they have continued with that commission that we left prepared," the councilor explained.
González recalled that climate change is the "main threat facing humanity, no matter how much VOX, its new government partner in Teguise, denies it" and regretted that "Clavijo lied when he assured that they would never agree with VOX."
