The PSOE of Tinajo has denounced this Tuesday that the municipality is listed as the second with the most outstanding debt in all of Lanzarote, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Finance, with a debt that amounts to 511,000 euros.
The socialist spokesperson, Begoña Hernández, pointed out that "this figure is not an isolated fact, but the direct result of deficient economic management, without planning or control, which drags the municipality into an increasingly worrying situation."
"While other municipalities are moving towards budgetary balance, in Tinajo we continue to experience a CC government with Jesús Machín at the helm that does not translate into better services or real investments for our neighbors," Hernández lamented.
The representative of the PSOE stressed that this situation demonstrates a way of governing "improvised and far from the real needs of the municipality." "The most serious thing is that no improvement is perceived in the day-to-day life of Tinajo," she added.
From the Socialist Group they demand that the mayor "take responsibility and implement urgent measures to reverse this trend." "We cannot continue to look the other way while each municipality is burdened with debt and for future generations," she concluded.
