The PSOE of Arrecife denounces that Yonathan de León spent no less than ten million five hundred sixty-five thousand euros (€10,565,000) from January to August 2025. Brutal and scandalous figures that confirm unprecedented waste in the island's capital. "They live in a permanent spree at the expense of the money of the city's residents," says Cristina Duque, councilor of the PSOE. The figures are as follows: in Christmas in León, 3,039,113.13 euros were spent; in the carnivals, 2,207,675.30 euros were burned; at the April fair, 548,561.50 euros were melted; on Canary Islands Day, 562,267.20 euros were spent; in various festivals such as the MANGA FEST, 133,750 euros; on Saint John's Day, about 150,000 euros (this amount is estimated since we have not yet received all the information that is systematically hidden from us); at the SUMMER FEST, 350,000 euros (this amount is estimated since we have not yet received all the information that is systematically hidden from us). URBAN FEST 107,000 euros; LAVA LIVE 300,000 euros, and the culmination of the squandering until August of this year is the San Ginés festivities with 3,161,477.99 euros. Adding up to the scandalous figure of more than 10.5 million euros.

The average spending on revelry is: "more than 43,500 euros per day, in one of the poorest cities in Spain, with problems of housing, education, cleaning, etc., and with one of the lowest salaries in the Canary Islands and Spain," says Cristina Duque. For the socialists, it is unbelievable that parties and revelry are prioritized over the creation of basic infrastructure and services such as cleaning, parks, or security.

The PSOE demands that the Partido Popular and Coalición Canaria put a stop to this absurdity. "The permanent revelry in which the public officials of the PP and Coalición live will end up bankrupting the public coffers of our city," concludes Duque.
