“For the third year, the CC government's disinterest prevents the recovery of this distinction of excellence for one of the most important beaches in Costa Teguise and the municipality": Jaime Guerra, socialist councilor.
The PSOE of Teguise denounces that, for the third consecutive year, the beach of El Jablillo in Costa Teguise is left without a "blue flag", after its loss in 2021 by the current government of Coalición Canaria (CC), "for not being able to recover it even to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Costa Teguise”, says Guerra.
As stated in the list of concessions for this award, recently released by the Environmental Education Foundation, the beach of El Jablillo continues "without recovering this symbol that recognizes, among other things, the cleanliness, services and water quality of our beaches", he recalls.
"If in 2021 it seemed like bad news, on this occasion the criticism should be greater, for having had two years to correct the situation and it also coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Costa Teguise”, the councilor points out.
“It is a continuation of the disinterest shown by the CC government in management, whether in basic municipal services such as gardens, cleaning or security, or in attending to one of the main attractions for tourists and residents, the beaches of Costa and the rest of the municipality", laments Jaime Guerra.
The socialist group emphasizes that "from the opposition we have proposed actions to improve the state of the beaches and bathing areas in Costa Teguise, Famara, La Graciosa, Los Cocoteros, etc, but unfortunately CC has systematically rejected our proposals".
"Thus, it has been useless to replace the current lifeguard containers with other more modern facilities aesthetically and functionally; an accessibility plan; the improvement of its maintenance and conservation, etc, by a government that has not allowed itself to be helped throughout the mandate", they criticize.
"To give our municipality a new boost and recover good management"
“We are facing another of the reasons that justify the change that Teguise and La Graciosa need, which we hope will happen from May 28, to give our municipality a new boost and recover the desire, good management and also the blue flag of El Jablillo", concludes Jaime Guerra.
