The PSOE of Teguise has analyzed the results of the municipal elections held last Sunday, May 28, in a joint meeting of its local committee and the elected councilors, held in the society of Tahíche last Wednesday, May 31.
After the elections, the socialist party is the political formation that obtained the most support, being the first force in the municipality by achieving 2,818 votes, translated into eight councilors of the 21 that make up the Corporation.
During the meeting, the main data that the polls yielded were broken down, both the results in each of the polling stations, as well as the abstention rate, higher than 40%, "which worries us and should lead all parties to a reflection", lamented Juan Ramón Pérez Borges, organization secretary of the PSOE of Teguise.
From the socialist ranks they show their satisfaction after the elections, "because we bet on a political change in the municipality that would promote political alternation in Teguise, after fourteen years of uninterrupted government of the Canarian Coalition, and the result is that the citizens have overwhelmingly given us their trust, which we appreciate", Borges said.
"In addition, other political options that defend changing course in our municipality have improved their positions, with CC being the formation with the greatest loss of support, losing four councilors, which confirms the majority feeling of the citizens, reflected in the polls," continued the head of organization.
"In view of the results, the change that Teguise and La Graciosa need is closer"
"In view of the results, the change that Teguise and La Graciosa need is closer, trusting that they will translate into a new government that we want to lead with Marcos Bergaz as mayor and that will be good for the municipality," stressed Pérez Borges.
Finally, the socialist group pledged to do everything in its power "so that the citizen support received allows us to configure a government that recovers the lost leadership in Teguise, from dialogue, agreement and desire to do more and better things."
