The Popular Party has registered this Wednesday morning a petition for the mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, to appear urgently "in order to explain her indictment in the case of the accident that occurred during the last carnivals."

As the PP spokesperson in the Consistory, Dácil Garcias, told La Voz, Eva de Anta was summoned to testify this Wednesday as an investigated party, but her statement has been postponed until the 23rd, after the mayor asked for it to be delayed because she was traveling.

The populars remember that two women were injured in the accident, one of them seriously, when a lamppost fell on them at the end of the carnival procession. "The cable with which one of the participating floats grazed, as the Popular Party denounced at the time, was not included in the Security Plan drawn up for the festivities and was signed in handwriting by the mayor herself," the populars affirm.

The PP points out that the indictment of the mayor of Arrecife occurs after the complaint of the people affected by the accident. "Accident that was initially silenced by the Department of Festivities in the public assessment it made about the development of the procession, one of the most important and massive events of the capital's carnivals," the populars conclude.
