The candidate of the Popular Party for the Mayor of Tinajo, Ramón Ortiz, asks that they be removed "from the LZ-56 roads, Mancha Blanca-La Geria, better known as the Tinguatón road, and LZ-67 Mancha Blanca-Yaiza, in the section of the municipality of Tinajo, called by the residents Timanfaya Park, the radars placed almost seven years ago by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and which are currently out of use."
The Populars consider that “if the landscape impact they caused on the environment was already evident at the time, it has only gotten worse over time.” In this sense, Ramon Ortiz points out the “terrible state” in which the devices are due to their breakage, and how this fact “damages the image of such a unique and unique natural environment as La Geria and the volcanic landscape surrounding the Natural Park of Los Volcanes.” For the popular candidate, “what corresponds once they are out of use is their immediate removal from the road.”
"As will be recalled, this is not the first time that the removal of the radars has been requested. Already in November 2019, the then Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, asked the DGT to remove the devices installed on the LZ-56 and LZ-67", conclude from the PP.
