Astrid Pérez is strongly committed to "the creation of a line of financial aid for Lanzarote residents who study in the peninsula those university degrees that are not taught in the Canary Islands", she confirms.
"There are many students who, in order to study what they really want, have to move to the peninsula because these degrees are not taught in any of the Canarian universities, considerably multiplying the expenses that families have to bear", explains the candidate, who considers the implementation of these scholarships of "extreme necessity".
Lanzarote students currently suffer from two main problems: "in Lanzarote only the degrees of Tourism and Nursing are taught; and in the ULPGC and the ULL not all university degrees are taught", says Pérez.
"The people of Lanzarote deserve dignified treatment and not to be considered second-class citizens, and this aid would considerably facilitate their transfer and stay on the peninsula", she adds.
"It is our obligation to help young people who have to move to different parts of the national territory to study a university degree", insists the candidate for the Parliament of the Canary Islands, who assures that "this commitment will be one of the priorities of Manuel Domínguez as president of the Government of the Canary Islands."
"El PP will have marked in red, in its daily agenda, the support for university students in Lanzarote"
"After years of abandonment and neglect in education by the different governments in the Canary Islands, the Popular Party will have marked in red, in its daily agenda, the support for university students in Lanzarote", concludes Astrid Pérez.
