The Popular Party asks the municipal government of Jesús Machín to carry out the necessary steps with the Cabildo of Lanzarote to enable a bus stop at the entrance of the town of El Cuchillo and facilitate access to intercity public transport for the residents of the area.
For the popular party, it is important that a new stop be enabled at the beginning of El Cuchillo street to prevent users from having to travel to the town center or to the previous stop, which is in the middle of the main road. “We believe that enabling this new point of access to public transport does not represent a large investment for the administration, and for the residents of the area, it would be a great relief not to have to travel so far to catch a bus, also traveling along a road without a sidewalk because crossing is crazy, especially at night,” says the local president, Ramón Ortiz.
In addition, he also points out that "the more the service adapts to the needs of the users, the more public transport will be used," the popular party emphasizes.
"Precisely the improvement of the public transport service has been a constant in the demands of the Popular Party, which since the last term has transferred several initiatives to the Cabildo to implement the current map of lines with new connections," they express. In this sense, they have demanded the implementation of a line to connect Tinajo with the town of Playa Blanca and another between Tinajo and Puerto del Carmen and give residents the possibility of traveling by public transport to their jobs in both tourist areas.
