The Popular Party asks the municipal government to "be scrupulous" with the compliance with the regulations for the prevention of occupational hazards derived from work in order to avoid unwanted accidents. The request from the Populars comes after seeing "the precarious conditions" in which municipal workers are placing the traditional Christmas lighting in the roundabout at the entrance to the town of Tinajo.
"Without a helmet, without a safety harness, in a basket for one person, apparently not approved and with a simple yellow vest. This is how workers are forced to carry out their work several meters high, and completely exposed to any accident that may occur," they point out.
For the Populars, it is essential that the City Council "has the necessary material to carry out these works in complete safety, as required by the regulations, which recognizes the right of workers to the protection of their health and integrity in the workplace. It is one thing for the mayor, at his own risk, to decide to climb onto the roof of his car to fix a lamppost, and quite another for a public employee to be forced to carry out his work without the necessary safety measures due to lack of material and means at his disposal," they declare.
From the PP they consider that "the facts are extremely serious and urge the local government to adopt the necessary measures to prevent this type of situation from happening again."
