The Popular Party of Tías has demanded that the PSOE and Podemos, who govern in the Tías City Council, "conclude the renovation works in the Municipal Pavilion now." For the president of the populars of Tías and councilor in the Corporation, Kiko Aparicio, "sports clubs, athletes and all citizens, fail to understand the continuous delays that are registering the completion of the works of the Municipal Pavilion of Tías. Some works whose technical projects and financing managed to leave the Popular Party closed in 2019, after its good municipal management in this Consistory."

From the local PP, they do not share "the neglect of the socialist mayor, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, who normally assumes that the works are almost half a year late when it was the mayor himself who promised that the execution period of 2 months would be met, as noted on the construction sign next to the pavilion."

For Kiko Aparicio, the “disappearance” of the tripartite councilor Mame Fernández, “who has not appeared at the City Council for more than a year - despite being released with exclusive dedication and receiving a monthly salary that exceeds two thousand euros - and who was the Councilor for Sports at the beginning of the current mandate, together with the current head of the Sports Area, Sergio García, and the mayor Cruz Saavedra, have not been able to conclude in a timely manner some necessary works to improve the Pavilion, despite the fact that at the beginning of this mandate, in June 2019, he found the projects and financing guaranteed by the past management of the PP."

The Popular Party reminds citizens that "this delay in the works, whose reasons are unknown, is causing great damage to local sports clubs, their players, and fans, which forces them to hold their league matches in sports facilities in other municipalities." Kiko Aparicio reproves that the lack of planning of the tripartite of Tías is generating, even at the beginning of this new year 2023, "these great inconveniences to the representative teams of basketball, handball and indoor soccer of the municipality of Tías."
