The PP of Tías calls the PSOE and Podemos Modernization Plan's delay 'inadmissible'

The Popular Party of Tías has harshly criticized the governing group of PSOE and Podemos after the celebration of a new extraordinary and urgent Plenary session convened this Thursday to approve new rectifications to the III Modernization Plan of Puerto del Carmen, a document that the PP considers strategic for the economic future of the municipality and whose processing has already accumulated seven years.

For the popular party, it is "inadmissible" that a file of this relevance had to return to the municipal Plenary session again to correct errors, evidencing, in their opinion, the lack of planning, rigor, and management capacity of the current government.

The councilor and president of the Popular Party of Tías, Francisco Aparicio, laments that "what should have been a historic opportunity to promote the renovation of Puerto del Carmen has become an authentic administrative ordeal due to a government incapable of moving forward with one of the most important documents for the municipality."

"It is already a real mockery that the PSOE and Podemos have been selling for months that Puerto del Carmen already had a Modernization Plan when the reality is that today it returns once again to the Plenary session to introduce new rectifications. The facts alone dismantle the government's narrative," states Aparicio.

The Popular Party recalls that the tourism sector has been waiting for seven years for the definitive approval of an essential instrument to undertake investments, renovate establishments, and continue improving the competitiveness of Lanzarote's main tourist destination.

"During these seven years, businessmen and owners have had to keep waiting while the municipal government has chained together delays, errors, and rectifications. It is unacceptable that a document of this importance continues without being finalized after so much time," points out the popular councilor.

For Francisco Aparicio, this new extraordinary and urgent call "is the best proof of the failure in the management of the governing group."

"We are not talking about a simple administrative error. We are talking about the most important urban and tourism document for the future of Puerto del Carmen, a plan that the government has announced time and again as a reality and a success when it still continues to accumulate modifications and corrections," defends Aparicio.
