The PP denounces power cuts in several municipal facilities in Arrecife "due to non-payment"

The PP has denounced the "chaos" that in their opinion "is being caused by the poor management of the government team in the city of Arrecife," assuring that several municipal facilities such as socio-cultural centers, the Titerroy Pavilion and the Altavista senior center, have suffered a power outage due to the "non-payment to Endesa" by the City Council.

"To the messes that have been experienced for months in basic public services such as traffic lights and lighting in many areas of the city, now adds the power outage in several municipal facilities due to non-payment to Endesa, the electricity supply company of Arrecife, which owes 180,000 euros for the socio-cultural centers," the Popular Party states in a statement.

According to the information handled by the PP, "the cut is affecting all socio-cultural centers, which have been without electricity for several days, the Titerroy Sports Hall and the Altavista senior center, who today attended the municipal plenary session to protest this fact that will leave them without the activities of the cultural week."

"All that's missing is for them to close the door of the Consistory"

The deputy spokesperson, Jacobo Medina, points out "the discomfort that exists among the users of all the facilities", since in most cases he assures that "service stops being provided from six in the afternoon, therefore suspending activities."

Medina warns of the cascade of serious problems that are occurring in the city in aspects as basic as the payment of water and electricity bills. "Unfortunately for everyone, the City Council has become a ruin and, at this rate, all that remains is for it to close the door of the consistory because the situation is extremely serious," he adds.

"It is incomprehensible, it is not normal and there is no justification whatsoever for the City Council not to face the payment of essential service providers to the point that Endesa cuts off the electricity to municipal dependencies. The Popular Party can say it louder but not clearer, but we have been warning for months of the dramatic situation that is being experienced in Arrecife and, much to our regret, this is one more step in the decline that the City Council has entered in this mandate under the presidency of the Socialist Party," concludes Medina.
