The PP criticizes "the loss of subsidies from the Government of the Canary Islands" due to the "inability of Corujo"

"The president of the Cabildo has not been able to favorably manage the almost 400,000 euros destined for a project as important as the restoration of the Puente de las Bolas", denounces Jacobo Medina

The Popular Party Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa have once again denounced "the loss of subsidies received from the Government of the Canary Islands due to Dolores Corujo's inability to materialize the projects."

"If already at the time the first Institution had to return the 250,000 euros received for the creation of the Atmospheric Observatory of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, now it will have to do the same with the 389,564 euros of subsidy granted by the General Directorate of Tourist Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands in December 2019", the Populars point out.

According to the former Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, under his responsibility the project was drafted and even an extension was requested "but the truth is that in the last two years the Corujo government has not reported on the evolution of the file or the steps it has taken to execute the works."

"The reality is that in four years, Dolores Corujo has not been able to favorably manage the almost 400,000 euros destined for a project as important as the restoration of the Puente de las Bolas, one of the most outstanding and important heritage emblems of the city of Arrecife", says Medina, who questions "where is the defense of the island's heritage values when it is not even suitable to materialize a subsidy of this magnitude".  In such important matters, it is not worth passing the buck and blaming other administrations because the one who requests the subsidy is the one who has to ensure that it is executed in a timely manner.
