The Popular Party councilor in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Jacobo Medina, denounces the “lack of real social commitment with the protection of the most vulnerable population by the president Dolores Corujo, who, one step away from finishing the mandate, has been unable to materialize the purchase of a single home to allocate it to social rental”.
In this sense, Medina recalls that "the last budget approved by the Cabildo was in 2021, when the Popular Party was still in government, including a credit of almost 24 million euros to finance the Investment Plan." Among the strategic projects to be financed with said credit, “the largest amount, of 13.8 million euros, corresponded precisely to the acquisition of social housing of which absolutely nothing has been known because nothing has been done with that money”, emphasizes the councilor.
For the PP candidate for the presidency of the Cabildo, “the management of the socialist government is falling apart everywhere”, because “behind the progressive left-wing discourse is only its inability to respond to the real needs of citizens, of families who are in a more vulnerable situation in the face of the crisis”.
Jacobo Medina regrets that, "having a budget for it, the socialist government has not materialized the purchase of a single home to include it in an island social rental pool, thus failing to fulfill the commitment it acquired with the citizens."
“And in the face of the null management of his government, it is not surprising that he resorts to propaganda notes on projects of other administrations in which the Cabildo has not lifted a finger because they are not even his responsibility”, Medina denounces.
