The Popular Party has sent a statement to make public the "attack" that it claims the private car of one of its councilors has suffered. In the image they have sent to the media, the front window of a vehicle is seen broken, which belongs to the Arrecife councilor Roberto Herbón. In addition, they assure that the word "oilman" was written on the car.
"The Popular Party regrets and condemns the attitude of the radicals who are personally attacking its public officials," they say in a statement, in which they attribute what happened to "the radicalization of the political speeches of those who are against the surveys", since they consider that "they could be encouraging radicals to act outside the law".
Specifically, they refer to "the speeches of CC and PSOE" and, in particular, to the latest statements by the general secretary of the Lanzarote socialists, María Dolores Corujo, "when she said that this indignity will not come free to the PP, in clear reference to the oil issue." The populars are referring to the statement sent this Wednesday by Corujo, when the granting of the latest permit to Repsol to start the explorations was known. In that press release, the PSOE leader literally said: "This indignity will not come free in terms of public image to Repsol and the PP".
In addition, the populars also refer to "those words of Echedey Eugenio, where he sent all the PP supporters to move", in an opinion article written a few months ago by the councilor of Teguise and secretary of communication of CC.
In its press release, the PP invites all political parties to "join and condemn this totally undemocratic and despicable act" and "invites" them to a "calm political debate in accordance with the times we live in, outside of demagoguery and repeated falsehoods in this matter".
