The Popular Party of Lanzarote will hold this Saturday, April 3, the local assemblies in which the members of the different municipalities will vote for the precandidates for the Presidency. A total of 650 members are called to the polls, of which 60 correspond to New Generations. All of them have the right to vote as they meet the requirements of the Regulations of the IX Extraordinary Island Congress.
The Assemblies will be held in person, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the three electoral headquarters enabled for this purpose, the Insular electoral headquarters of Arrecife where the members registered in the municipalities of Arrecife, Teguise, San Bartolomé, Tinajo, Tías and Haría will exercise their right to vote, the Yaiza electoral headquarters where the members registered and registered in the municipality of Yaiza will vote, and the electoral headquarters in La Graciosa where those registered and affiliated residents in La Graciosa will vote.
Regarding the voting system, and since all the delegates have already been proclaimed in accordance with art. 9.5 of the Regulations of the IX Extraordinary Island Congress, the members will only have to vote for their precandidate for the Presidency.
"In order to guarantee the transparency of the process, the COC has agreed to record the scrutiny at the end of the election day," they point out from the organization.
Likewise, they add that "in order to avoid crowds and facilitate voting, at the insular electoral headquarters where the members of Arrecife, Teguise, San Bartolomé, Tías, Tinajo and Haría will vote, the COC has arranged the presence of two of its members at the entrance who will be in charge of informing the members of which is their polling station."
Finally, they explain that "in compliance with COVID-19 regulations, only four voters may coincide inside. Similarly, as protection and security measures, the temperature will be taken of all members and disinfectant gel will be dispensed. The use of masks and other sanitary measures is mandatory."
