The Platform of People Affected by Mortgages in Lanzarote has occupied a branch of Banca March this Friday, located on Calle León y Castillo in Arrecife. With this protest, they intend for the bank to register a communication from a client, who is requesting payment in kind. They will not leave until they achieve it.
"Until now, we have always brought the communications that the client wants to send to the bank and the bank has maintained an open relationship. You could communicate and you felt the security of being heard. They stamped the writings that we presented. But today Banca March tells us that it does not have an entry stamp, therefore, either the one from previous times was false or it is an excuse", criticized Cristina Cividanes, a member of the platform.
The members of this group do not understand why the entity does not want to register this client's communication, when it is something "regulated by Consumption". "They have to register the requests of their clients because that does not compromise them", said Cividanes.
The client, who has a home in Arrecife, requests payment in kind, after not being able to afford the mortgage in July and August. "She has no guarantees and has told the bank that she can't take it anymore, that she loses everything she has paid and that they keep the house. She will go to live with her mother wherever she can. She is desperate and scared", explained Cividanes.
The platform demands that Banca March "communicate" with its client and continue to maintain "an open channel of communication". "We will be here until they register the writing", they assured from the Platform of People Affected by Mortgages.
