The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands has received a total of 42 allegations during the public exhibition period of the draft Plan for the Management of Natural Resources of the Chinijo Archipelago.
The regional minister responsible for the Area, José Antonio Valbuena, explained that “once the suggestions presented have been studied, the Executive plans to schedule a series of face-to-face meetings with citizens and the administrations involved, including the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the town councils of Teguise and Haría, to explain them and discuss the proposed planning and its areas of action".
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Territorial Planning, Leopoldo Díaz, stated that “after analyzing the suggestions and contributions" that they receive in these meetings, "a new period of public information will be launched, with which citizens will be able to exercise their right to participate, both individually and through the entities established to defend their legitimate interests”.
Of the allegations received to the draft Plan for the Management of Natural Resources of the Chinijo Archipelago, a total of 16 correspond to public administrations, 12 to individuals and 14 to environmental, social and economic sector associations involved in this proposal.
"The contributions received are diverse and refer to issues that range from the provision of information that completes the document prepared to issues of a particular and personal nature related to the ownership of specific buildings and farms, through other issues such as the load capacity of La Caleta de Famara and Caleta del Sebo", specify from the regional Executive.
The regional Deputy Minister added that the technical team of the Ministry is carrying out an exhaustive study of the allegations received "with a view to introducing modifications that contribute to improving the Plan under processing".
