The Popular Party of Yaiza has lamented that the Yaiza City Council is obliged to return 356,000 euros received within the framework of the Programs of Training in Alternation with Employment (PFAE), a fact that the spokesperson Juan Monzón has considered "very bad news for our municipality."

The economic amount that the UPY government, with Óscar Noda at the helm, will have to return to the Government of the Canary Islands for "mismanagement" corresponds to three employment and training programs aimed at unemployed people without prior qualifications, which combine technical training with work experience in works or services of public utility.

Juan Monzón has stated that with this return, "Yaiza loses not only 356,000 euros, but also the opportunity to generate formative employment, improve local skills, and execute projects of social interest that are so necessary in our municipality."

The PP of Yaiza has demanded "explanations and responsibility because we cannot allow resources to be lost in this way. In such a sensitive area as employment, not a single euro of what comes to us from other administrations can be lost, although unfortunately, what has happened is no longer a novelty for the current government."

Monzón explained that, although the Canarian Employment Service made legal recommendations to the town councils to adapt to the changes that the Central Government has introduced in the hiring of personnel, the government of Óscar Noda has not been able to materialize any of the proposed alternatives. "This return is a clear failure of management and foresight that the residents do not deserve," added the municipal spokesperson for the Popular Party.

"It is not admissible that, in times of need like the present, a municipality like Yaiza loses structural resources for employment due to political management failures." The PP has urged the government team to assume responsibilities and seek formulas that guarantee that these resources will not be lost in future calls.
