The spokesperson for the Renovating Movement of Tinajo (MRT), Antonio Morales, describes the new Tinajo budgets for 2023 as "electioneering, populist, disappointing and antisocial". "They contribute absolutely nothing and do not help make Tinajo a more prosperous municipality," explains Morales, for whom with these new accounts "the mayor and his municipal government intend to pull the wool over the eyes of the municipality's residents."
The spokesperson states, among other deficits of the new budgets, that "this year they are reducing aid, social benefits and bonuses and, when families are having the worst time, they forget about them again, as they also ignore the needs of the primary sector, to which they only grant 35,000 euros for Agriculture." For Morales, "especially painful is the null support" that the mayor, Jesús Machín, "grants to an activity within an eminently rural municipality such as Tinajo."
"They do not take into account that many farmers have not been able to sell practically any cheese, but the production prices for the primary sector have skyrocketed after the war in Ukraine," he laments.
"Up to 30,000 euros in protocol expenses for feasts and zero euros in Culture"
"Another gem," he indicates, "we find in Culture, to which he dedicates zero euros, but yes, they paint in the new municipal accounts up to 30,000 euros in protocol expenses for feasts and waste more than half a million euros again, which they sneak in again under the repeated heading of 'payment for contracting and work carried out by other companies', which we do not understand either." In addition, we are very surprised by the item for electrical energy, which we understand are the electricity bills, in which this City Council is going to spend the outrageous amount of 403,000 euros, a real aberration," he maintains.
In this sense, he assures that "we see how the most important thing for this Government is to put money into its parties, its feasts and its chiringuitos, invest in material for promotion, to which they dedicate 15,000 euros." He also denounces the "electioneering" nature of the new accounts. "Certain items such as Commerce, Tourism and Small and Medium Enterprises have risen minimally to 20,000 euros, in a desperate attempt to please certain sectors due to the proximity of the elections," he questions.
"They are trying to deceive people again without solving anything"
In his opinion, "they are trying to deceive people again without solving anything because many times what is needed is real and sincere help, which sometimes should not even come in the form of money, but in the form of benefits and services that are obtained for the resident through collaboration with other administrations," they add.
Morales stresses that "budgets are a vital tool for any city council, but in Tinajo it seems that they do not take this seriously either." The party demands that the mayor "should explain to the people how these alleged aids that he is announcing are going to be." They clarify that "we want to know what procedure will be carried out and it would be convenient to know before the elections," he says.
Morales describes the new municipal accounts as "antisocial." "It turns out that we come from two years in which people, families, companies have needed the most help, with households without income after the COVID-19 pandemic, but instead of applying serious and responsible policies and helping the citizens, this government group did not contribute or contribute anything," he criticizes.
"We presented several initiatives, but they were rejected"
"From the MRT we presented several initiatives to the Municipal Plenary, but they were rejected when we were going through the worst part of the pandemic," recalls Morales.
On the other hand, "we proposed bonuses on municipal taxes, direct aid to the primary sector, employment plans for the neediest families and young people, aid to families with children between 0 and 3 years old who could not afford the costs of nurseries, etc.
"This year's Budgets have been approved in a hurry to put misleading items and to lie to the population"
Although "in the last three years the Budgets have been approved late, once the current year of each budget has passed, but, on the other hand, this year's budget has been approved in a hurry to put misleading items and to lie to and confuse the population," he highlights.
Finally, "only 4,000 euros are allocated for Road Cleaning, only 15,000 euros for the repair of public lighting despite the fact that the municipality's lampposts are falling to pieces; in Parks and Gardens there are only 15,000 euros; for Environmental Policies, zero euros, the same amount that this Government contributes to Research, Development and Innovation; in Youth we only have 4,000; and in Energy and Industry also zero euros," he laments.
