The MRT denounces that the Tinajo garbage contract turns one year old with "containers in a warehouse and without starting the new service"

The formation criticizes that the contest was marked by the “whims” of the mayor and that twelve months later what was awarded has not been fulfilled. “He sold that it was going to be spectacular and we still don't see anything of all that”

The Tinajo Renovation Movement demands the immediate reopening of the Los Dolores agricultural market

A year after the award of the garbage collection contract in Tinajo, the new service established in the specifications has not yet been launched. “The mayor sold that it was going to be spectacular, that the fifth brown container would be added, that they would remove the traditional containers and put lateral containers and that the trucks would be hybrid or electric propulsion, but we still don't see anything of all that”, denounces the Renovating Movement of Tinajo.

In its day, the party already questioned that the contest was adapted to the “whims” of the mayor. Now, they confirm that these conditions of the award, which took place in July 2021, for a total amount of 2,300,000 euros, are not being met.

“After a year, they could have already started. The contract was for five years, without extension, and there are only four left”, warns the spokesperson for the MRT, Antonio Morales.

In addition, he denounces that there are household containers that should have been distributed among the residents and that are stored in a warehouse.

“One of the improvements was that the company would buy small recycling containers, for glass, for cardboard and for plastic, to put in each house, to promote recycling”, recalls Morales. However, he knows that they have arrived in Tinajo months ago, but they are still not being distributed.

“We don't understand why they have put them in a warehouse. I don't know if they are waiting for the elections to arrive to deliver them and score the point as if the City Council has paid for it, when the reality is that it is an improvement that the company to which the service has been awarded has made, which is FCC”, emphasizes the mayor.

Faced with this situation, he demands that the mayor explain what is happening with this service: “We know that the strength of the Tinajo government group is not transparency, and he already demonstrated it with the previous garbage collection contract and when this contest began, which they had to repeat because they did it wrong; but we demand a public explanation, so that all the residents of the municipality know what is the reason why the service has not been launched”.
