The Minister of Tourism of the Government of Spain, Reyes Maroto, tasted this Tuesday a gastronomic proposal by the chef from Lanzarote, Jordi Gutiérrez, from the La Maresía Restaurant, within the framework of the Madrid Fusión fair.
Maroto, accompanied by the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, tasted a dish of goat trout and banana coulis, in addition to learning about other products from the island during her tour of the Lanzarote stand at the event.
Corujo thanked the minister for her visit to the area and highlighted that, through the exhibitions held these days, the island wanted to "highlight" the work, in the sense of "turning this sector into one of the most qualified and attractive in the tourism field."
"The quality and professionalism of our representatives has demonstrated the potential that exists in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, as well as the presence of students who will be future chefs and who are already preparing to elevate local gastronomy to national and international recognition," added the island representative.
