The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez Martín, has been appointed Island Commissioner of Lanzarote of the 'Canary Federation of Municipalities' (FECAM), so he will represent the objectives of the Lanzarote town councils and defend, protect and promote their common interests in the regional federation. With this appointment, Isidro Pérez Martín's experience in FECAM representing San Bartolomé continues to grow, and now also the rest of the island's municipalities. In addition, he is part of the Executive Committee and chairs the Commission of Public Works, Transportation, Mobility and Housing.
As president of the 'Social Welfare Commission', in the past term, he collaborated with the General Directorate of Social Rights of the Government of the Canary Islands for the entry into force, on March 29, 2023, of the Canarian income of citizenship. Another of the points of the commission chaired by Isidro Pérez and that went ahead in collaboration with the Regional Directorate General of Dependency, was the so-called 'Catalog of Services and Benefits'. The decree was published in April 2023 and, currently, a new stage of work is starting, non-existent until now because, although it is an autonomous competence, it directly affects the municipal social services.
Isidro Pérez has thanked "the responsibility of continuing to represent San Bartolomé and now, therefore, Lanzarote, in the FECAM. I appreciate the opportunity to work again in another forum such as the 'Canary Federation of Municipalities' for our neighbors always with the aim of improving our municipalities in all aspects", concludes the mayor.
