The judge of the Court of Instruction Number 2 of Arrecife has charged the local police officer Narciso Pérez with an alleged crime of occupation of real estate, for which he had to testify on April 10. The agent lives in one of the houses of the La Destila school, which the City Council is trying to evict in order to demolish the center and build a new one. According to the latest judicial resolution, this man will have to leave the house next Friday, the 19th.

Narciso Pérez had to answer last Wednesday for an alleged crime of occupation of real estate and stated before the magistrate that "he has a right over the use of the property", although he insisted that he has "never" said that he was the "owner". He also explained that he has been living in this house, in number 2º F, since 1969-1970, "more than 40 years", because his father was a teacher, although he died in 1978 and he continued to reside in this address.

Thus, he insisted that he is "registered in the municipal register", that the electricity supplies are in his father's name but he is the one who pays them and that the water is in his name and he also pays it. In addition, he considered that his "right" over this property is based on the "coexistence he had with his father" and defended that "this right has not been extinguished by any express resolution"

Appeal the eviction

Pérez also stated that he has not yet vacated the house, despite the judicial resolution that gave him a period of 10 days and that expires on Friday, because "he has not been notified by the Court in this regard" and, in addition, it could be appealed. The local police officer believes that "he has no obligation to vacate the property because he has a right to the legal route to appeal", according to his statement as an accused, to which La Voz has had access.

Narciso Pérez also had to answer questions from the lawyer of the prosecution, that is, the lawyer of the Arrecife City Council, to whom he stated that "he has no authorization" from the City Council to occupy this house and also denied that he lives in another street in Arrecife, which is where "his ex-wife" resides, since he is divorced.
