The plenary session of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, chaired by councilor Francisco J. Aparicio, moved this Tuesday to Santa Cruz de Tenerife to hold its ordinary session for the month of May.

This institutional exchange day aimed, in addition to approving the presentation of the 2024 budget, to hold a talk-colloquium about emergency plans, held in the Multiple Use Building of the Canary Islands Government.

“We considered it essential that both the workers of this Consortium and the consortium entities know firsthand the working method in one of the capital islands,” said the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, who thanked all the consortium members who agreed to move to Tenerife this Tuesday.

During this day, the participants acquired an exhaustive knowledge of the operational functioning of the Coordination Center for Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands (CECOES 112), a nerve center for the comprehensive management of emergencies in the region. Likewise, the structure, action procedures and coordination mechanisms established in the Emergency Plans of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands were discussed in depth, essential tools to guarantee an effective and coordinated response to various risk situations.

In addition, the members of the plenary also visited the Parliament of the Canary Islands, being received by its president, Astrid Pérez. “I want to thank the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands enormously not only for her welcome but also for showing us how the Chamber works,” added Aparicio.
