The Councilor of Crafts of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Aroa Revelo, held this Wednesday a coordination meeting with the town councils of the island to finalize the preparations for the 36th edition of the Island Crafts Fair, one of the most emblematic events of the cultural and traditional calendar of the Canary Islands.
This event will be held from September 10 to 15 in Mancha Blanca, in the municipality of Tinajo, on the occasion of the Festivities of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores, patron saint of Lanzarote and will bring together more than a hundred artisans from all the islands, as well as from other regions or guest countries.
The Lanzarote Crafts Fair has established itself as a benchmark in the promotion, visibility and preservation of the artisanal heritage of the Archipelago. Pottery, ceramics, traditional carpentry, basketry and other artistic manifestations will form a wide and varied sample of the know-how that defines the cultural identity of our islands.
The Councilor of Crafts of the Island Council, Aroa Revelo, stressed that "the Island Crafts Fair not only represents an opportunity for the commercialization of unique and handmade products, but also a space for meeting, learning and recognition of the work of so many people who keep our traditions alive."
"We are working with all the municipalities to ensure that this new edition is once again a success in terms of organization and participation, and to guarantee a welcoming, safe and accessible environment for both artisans and the attending public," added the councilor.
The fair will have more than a hundred stalls in an exhibition space that will allow the public to learn about the techniques, materials and elaboration processes that characterize the artisanal production of the Canary Islands. In addition, parallel activities such as live demonstrations, workshops, musical performances and gastronomic tastings are planned, which will turn this event into a complete cultural experience.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote appreciates the involvement and collaboration of the town councils, as well as the commitment of the artisanal sector, which with its dedication and creativity continues to strengthen the value of our roots.
