The first day of the Island Congress of the Canary Coalition Lanzarote 2021 culminated on the night of this Friday, May 28, with the unanimous support of the 220 participating delegates to the management report of the outgoing secretary and candidate for re-election, Migdalia Machín.

In her speech, Machín recalled that CC "is a party that is presented to govern and we will continue trying in the time remaining in the mandate, because Lanzarote and La Graciosa need us. That effort to kick us out of everywhere has made us stronger. We govern in four institutions and I do not rule out governing in more.”

The nationalist leader has stressed the importance of placing the interests of the party above personal ones. “Here we must all row together”, she said, adding that “fortunately, dialogue and common interest in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, is our best weapon, which gives us the strength that others do not have, to continue working for our land.”

On the other hand, after the intervention of the seven local secretaries (Orlando Umpiérrez, Antonio Callero, Mateo Ramón, Isabel Sosa, Víctor Robayna, Sandra Rodríguez and Luis Miguel Pérez) and the general secretary of the Nationalist Youth of Lanzarote, Sara Bermúdez, welcoming the Congress and encouraging to continue working in defense of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, the voting and approval of the modifications introduced to the papers that will mark the lines of the strategic document of the party for the next four years was carried out.

As Isaac Castellano explained, the Regulation Paper defended by him and Samuel Martín, seeks the adaptation of its internal rules to the national statutes, to provide the organization with the necessary flexibility to face a complex and changing social and economic scenario, and to provide the organization with participation mechanisms that allow consultations with the militancy and the public as a whole.

For its part, the ideological Paper was in charge of Sara Bermúdez and Bruno Ramírez, both belonging to the youth organization, and it includes what is the vision of the ideal island that the Canary Coalition has. That is, the path to follow towards the island that the nationalists want for the residents of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, with the government that is truly needed and with the lines that will enable cultural, educational and sports development, in addition to energy, the one directed to the primary sector and other points, without forgetting the future and the needs of the people of La Graciosa.
