The Councilor for Urban Planning of the Teguise City Council, Domingo Cejas, explained that the government group will convene a working meeting in the coming days where the situation created by the subrogation of the City Council's powers over plot 242 B of Costa Teguise will be clarified. The councilor was surprised that it was precisely [the Socialist Party that demanded the holding of an extraordinary Plenary Session->5714] on this matter, because he assures that the reason for the wait for this meeting has been the need to first agree with the Cabildo on the Special Territorial Tourism Plan that the socialist councilor Carlos Espino is about to present.
"In the last Plenary Session we committed to holding a meeting, but I don't think it is necessary to organize a Plenary Session to present the documentation for the adaptation of Costa Teguise," explained Domingo Cejas, "but a working meeting with the drafting and technical team is enough." The Councilor for Urban Planning also clarified that this meeting has not been held until now because they were "waiting to have the document of the Partial Plan for Adaptation of Costa Teguise to jointly agree with the Special Tourism Plan of the Cabildo", according to Cejas' statements. "We have the document to meet with the Corporation and present it."
The councilor was surprised that it was the socialists who issued [this statement->5714], since "precisely the PSOE did not attend the last Plenary Session and it seems that now they want to jump on the bandwagon, when initially it was Alternativa Ciudadana who requested the information regarding plot 242 B".
In addition, the government group of Teguise asks the Cabildo of Lanzarote to unblock the situation in which the construction sector in Costa Teguise is currently located: "While Costa Teguise is paralyzed, a great development is taking place in other towns, such as Tahíche, where mass construction is taking place," explained Domingo Cejas. "What was planned for ten or fifteen years is being brought forward, and we do not understand the reason for these obstacles in the residential issue in Costa Teguise".
