From the FSOC we express our firmest repulsion regarding the proposal that the CEO of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote intends to elevate to the Board of Directors.

The initiative proposes the modification of the 2005 agreement, specifically of article 57, with the objective of delinking the workers from the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote so that they become exclusively dependent on the company. We consider that this measure represents a direct and unacceptable attack against the staff and an unprecedented betrayal towards the workers of the CACT.

"We demand the immediate halt of this proposal. The staff will not accept under any circumstances a decision that violates their status as public employees and jeopardizes the management model that has historically characterized the CACT," assure from the union.

Furthermore, they warn that "we are willing to undertake all necessary mobilizations and actions to prevent this measure from going ahead. If necessary, we will return to the demonstrations, strikes, and sit-ins that we already led in the past, even prioritizing our own rights and benefits, to defend the public management of the entity."

The Centers are public

From the trade union organization they point out that "just as we fought to guarantee its public nature, we will do it again to maintain it. Likewise, we convey our full support to the committee representative on the Board of Directors and reaffirm our determination to act with the utmost firmness so that this proposal does not succeed."

"We are not going to allow it. We are workers of the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote and we will defend our condition and our rights until the end," they sentence.
