The three magistrates who make up the Lanzarote Zone Electoral Board have dealt a blow to the Socialist Party due to a new complaint filed against the mayor of Arrecife, the popular Yonathan de León, as reported by the city council.

This is the second complaint against Yonathan de León in less than two weeks filed by the socialist Cristina Duque, which has also been dismissed.

The reasoning of the Electoral Board, which subscribes to the arguments defended by lawyer Claudio Doreste Torrent, "underscores and makes it clear that this new complaint from the PSOE is unfounded when they prove that the information disseminated by Yonathan de León, as mayor of Arrecife and head of the Public Works Department, does not infringe any regulation nor goes against what is established in the Electoral Law".

The ruling of the Lanzarote Electoral Board determines that Yonathan de León was disseminating "information of public interest and linked to the activity of institutions", unanimously dismissing the complaint filed against the mayor of the capital of Lanzarote, Yonathan de León.

The complaint questioned a publication about the planning of new asphalt works in Arrecife, within the Fourth Phase, and which have works scheduled for the Sundays of this month of November. The magistrates and the Legal Secretary of the Administration of Justice consider that this is information of public interest and that it cannot be included in the prohibition of article 50.2 of the Electoral Law, as it is a communication intended for the citizens.

The mayor has received this new resolution "with the security and tranquility that motivates him to continue working for Arrecife, always keeping the residents informed".

Finally, the city council states that "the PSOE intended to censor the official information from Yonathan de León that communicated the diversions this Sunday, November 8, on Vía Medular, in the area of the Courts and the roundabout with Calle Triana, due to resurfacing work programmed in advance before the call for the November 29 Elections".
